KS1 and KS2 Data – New progress and attainment measures
The government no longer reports key stages 1 and 2 attainment using levels. Key stage 2 national curriculum test outcomes are instead reported as scaled scores, where 100 represents the expected standard and, for 2018, 110 represents the high standard. At key stage 2, teacher assessment is reported for writing and science. At key stage 1, teacher assessment is reported for reading, writing, mathematics and science. The government no longer defines expected progress. Key stage 1 to key stage 2 progress is calculated differently from previously and the national average is zero.

Comparing schools with small pupil numbers
When comparing schools or colleges, you should consider that differences may not be significant if you’re looking at a small year group. For example, if 1 pupil in a group of 10 fails to make expected progress, this will reduce figures by 10%, whereas in a group of 30 pupils, this would only reduce figures by 3%.
