Computing
Intent
At Godolphin, curiosity is at the heart of the computing curriculum, which is designed to encourage students to explore, investigate, and solve problems exploring the digital landscape. Technology has become an integral part of everyday life and the school’s goal is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and understanding necessary to navigate an ever-changing digital world. By immersing them in computing vocabulary, the school helps deepen their understanding and supports not only classroom learning but real-world applications as well.
Implementation
Students are taught to interact with others in a kind and respectful manner both online and offline. Safe and positive digital communication is emphasized, with an open approach to discussing concerns. Godolphin school aims to equip students with the behaviours and understanding needed to navigate the online world safely, no matter which device they are using.
Through technology, children are empowered to connect with others and understand their place in the wider world; they learn to link their digital experience with their social and global surroundings. The curriculum emphasizes responsible digital citizenship, where students take ownership of their learning while building awareness of their impact on the world. In addition, students are given opportunities to apply their skills across the curriculum. By preparing students for the fast-evolving digital landscape, Godolphin ensures that they are ready to engage creatively, safely, and confidently digitally, whether in their future careers or personal endeavours.
